"Ward 24"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

At the end of January my dad was admitted to RPH he was put in MAU which we have had terrible experiences of but luckily he was moved to ward 24 as he was not improving and there was nothing that could be done but for him to be made comfortable. The nurses, staff and students were fantastic, so caring and helpful. When dad passed away on February 3rd we felt he had been cared for the best way possible as had my mum and myself. I know a lot of ward especially MAU I would never recommend but Ward 24 was fantastic.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experience at what is obviously a very difficult and sad time for you and your mum. Whilst I was disappointed to hear of his experience on the MAU (and would welcome the opportunity to discuss those concerns in more detail if you would be happy to do so), it was extremely pleasing to hear that the care he received on Ward 24 was of such a high standard. Please be assured that I have taken the liberty of sharing your feedback with the Matron for the MAU and with the staff on Ward 24.
