My 5 year old son received a head injury today & as such had to attend the Emergency Department in Wishaw General Hospital. He was clearly very upset and had an obvious large swelling in his head which was bleeding.
He was taken in triage and allocated a child friendly room. Even though the Department was clearly incredibly busy, we were delt with quickly and professionally.
My son was put at ease with he friendly nursing staff. This ensured that what might have been a very traumatic experience for him turned out to be a learning experience, that he is now looking forward to sharing with his teacher & classmates when he returns to school on Monday as part of his "People who help us" curriculum and of course showing off his paper stitches.
I would also like to add that the room was very clean, something a mother notices in a public place with two children.
Thank you Wishaw Emergency Department, a credit to our hospital and town.
