"Stent removal"

About: Worcestershire Royal Hospital

I attended the endoscopy unit yesterday for a stent removal. I had a hysterectomy 9 weeks ago to remove a huge fibroid of 3.5kgs. During the procedure I had a stent between the right kidney and bladder. I received great care from both the gynaecology and urology departments. I was extremely worried about the stent removal. I imagined it to be very painful. I was very nervous entering the ward. However, as soon as I was shown to my bed all of the staff made me feel very comfortable, answering any queries honestly and putting me at ease. The stent removal itself was far easier than I had imagined. It was very quick and painless. I was quite shocked by the size of the stent itself. Last night I slept well and only had to get up once to go to the toilet compared to before when I had to get up every 2 hours and did not have any pain. I would like to thank all of the staff on the endoscopy unit for their care and attention and making my experience Much better than I expected.
