"My Operation that never was"

I arrived at 7am this morning for my knee replacement operation. The staff in the Theatre Direct were all very good, could not fault them and how pleasant they were, I saw the surgeon and others that would be at my operation, was taken through everything that was going to happen, had wrist bands put on, surgical stocking was put on and blood pressure etc. was done. In total I was there 3. 5hrs, when a manager came and said my operation was cancelled as there would not be a bed available after the operation. So, as well as building my life and that of all my families around this operation, spending all that time at the hospital, just for some manager to come around and say "YOUR OPERATION IS CANCELLED" is unbelievable. Surely it was known my operation would not be going ahead, long before I left home this morning?
