"Waiting for ENT appointment for small child"

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Ear, Nose & Throat

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter started having recurrent ear infections in October 2014 (she was almost 8 months old when this started).

She had 13 ear infections between October and January and we're still waiting for an appointment to see a ENT specialist.

She's been on antibiotics for 6 months now (almost half her life) "while we wait for the opinion of a specialist".

How is this even possible?

Dear Galita

I am concerned to read your post and can understand how upsetting this must be for you and your daughter. You do not say if your GP has written to the ENT bringing to their attention the constant ear infections your daughter is experiencing. If you wish to contact Margaret Fraser on 0131 465 5658 I can certainly discuss this with the ENT. In the meantime I will bring your post to their attention.

Dear Margaret,

We finally received the letter with the appointment to see the ENT in a few weeks, so I wanted to thank you for all your help!
