"18 Weeks?"

About: Oxfordshire PCT

(as the patient),

I have symptomless Atrial Flutter, which was first spotted on a routine ECG in January 2009 notified to me in March 2009 with a GP referral in April 2009. I have yet to see a Consultant. I have had a number of tests to complete the diagnosis and a number of meetings with clinicians to be informed of results; the average gap between tests/meetings has been 6 weeks.

I am now on a waiting list of 12-16 weeks for an ablation procedure. The total time from GP referral to treatment will be in the region of 42 weeks. I think they may have missed the 18 week target!
