My mother was a resident at Cheadle hospital for about 4 weeks following an acute admission to A/E where she was not thought to survive. During her stay there, I can only say that if she could have stayed there until her last day on this earth I would have been very very happy. The staff are brilliant and do their utmost to make the patients comfortable and well fed. Mum was not eating well initially so they provided soup and other meals to try and build her up. She had pressure sores which were there when she arrived but they had pretty much resolved by the time she left. Liaison with myself and my sister was great and the MDT kept us informed of everything that was going on with mums planned discharge and ongoing health problems. She was due for discharge but unfortunately the ward had an outbreak of flu. But all patients were treated and infection control measures were strict and after a week there were no new outbreaks and mum could be discharged. Overall, I am very impressed with the organisation, the MDT involvement and the administration staffs awareness of protocols and discharge tools. It is a lovely hospital, clean and friendly and I hope that it remains that way..... Thankyou everybody for looking after my mum in bay one bed one... Sue
