About: Southport & Formby District General Hospital

Hi i had gallstones and needed surgery but was having to come to a+e every 5 to 6 wks because of long sickness an pain in my gsllbladder. i attended a+e 2 times and the staff couldnt do enough for me, amazing, they where so busy but still gave excellent care an comittment too. Everything and everytime i came i had to be addmitted to a ward the ward i was on for my visits was piu 11a and words cant describe to you how happy and overwhelmed with the lovely staff on that ward from the surgeons, doctors, nurses right down to the cleaners in the care was out standing i have never been ill this much in my life so being in hospital an having people look after me am not use to but the friendlness off all the men and woman on this ward made me feel so safe an felt like i was around friends even though there just doing there job they listened and made me feel like i was at home and comfortable. finally i can say that on the 12th march i got my surgery an am still resting at the minute but i feel well its unreal after loosing 8 stone in 6 months i can finally say i can look forward to going bk to work in a few wks and its thank to all the staff on that ward that am back to my old self and on road to recovery i wish i could thank them all so much as there care was excellent. my surgeon an a few nurses which where amazing, one so funny and another and there just a few i thank them all with all my heart. nhs is struggling an the staff are stretched but you would never of known in that ward because they all seem so happy thank PIU WARD 11A ur the best keep up the good work xx love sam xxx
