Lesney Ward: I have seen both nursing and care staff engage in arguements and other inappropriate behaviour with patients who are not always aware of what they are doing or saying due to their ill health.
This includes slamming food down: (toast) refusing to open the laundry without humiliating a women with incontinance: (same member of Care staff)
By-pasing patients queing for medication: telling patients standing in the queue that they are interfering with confidentiallity and patient care even though those standing either side of the patient were not spoken to, and forcing the patient to move away in a confrontational manner: Refusing a patient his medication on a regular basis until after everyone else had theirs: (Same Nurse)
Many of the staff are impatient and confrontational in nearly all aspects of their interaction with patients... sadly the list goes on.
I have not seen the same behaviour on Milbrook Ward where the attitude of staff is non-confrontational and respectful.
There are some very good caring staff too... but I feel these are currently in the minority. Oxleas need to address these issues as a matter of urgency.
