"Failure of Devon Partnership Trust as an organisation"

About: Devon Partnership NHS Trust / Crisis resolution

(as a parent/guardian),

I am the mother of a service user who is cared for in the community. I have been concerned for a long time about the lack of effective supervision from DPT staff of community services who are providing care. The the staff I have met have been complacent and defensive of the poor service that DPT offers. Complaints through PALS are not responded to quickly or at all in my experience. I do not trust the staff I have spoken to and the organisation itself seems to cover up problems as the complaints procedure is ignored.

Dear 'scared'

The comments and responses on the web-site of Patient Opinion are shared with us at Healthwatch.

This experience you describe was disturbing and caused your choice of anonymous name. Trust is so important. Do take up the offer of contact with a 'neutral third party' and please consider contacting Healthwatch too about your particular case.

More generally we are building a picture of the provision of services in Devon and these comments will help the NHS and other providers develop and improve their services.

If you wish to discuss any health or social care issues with us in confidence, including seeking advice or information about services, please call 0800 520 0640, or email info@healthwatchdevon.co.uk or go on-line to www.healthwatchdevon.co.uk.

Yours sincerely
