"Not satisfied with cleanliness for my daughter"

My daughter was admitted to University Hospital Lewisham for three days, with undiagnosed pain in the back and buttock. The A&E department was fantastic - very efficient and kind. The staff on the children's medical ward were kind and caring. But ... from what we saw, the place was terribly unclean!

My main complaint is that nobody cleaned the bathroom during the 3 days we were there. There was a sign taped to the wall saying that if I wanted to clean it, I could ask for materials from the staff. The cleaner half-heartedly shoved a wet mop part way under the beds, but did not make an effort to clean to the walls. They never offered to give my daughter a wash. The bathtup wasn't clean, it had no plug and no hot water anyway.

After this experience, I wouldn't want anyone I know to be in a hospital that unclean.
