My mum was admitted on Mother's Day struggling to breathe. I live in Manchester & when I arrived they had looked after her like she was their own mum. Staff very kind & actually talked to her not at her. She looked so frail but I was so grateful she was in good hands, She had her CAT scan & results in two weeks everyone looked busy but still smiling, She was discharged later & the reassuring words given by a nurse that if she was struggling or frightened she must ring for help & that she wasn't a nuisance. She is 88 & born in the time that going to the doctors & everything they say can't be challenged she now feels able to ask! A very grateful daughter who put her trust in the Medical Assessment Ward & they didn't let her down
