"Positive experience of treatment for Parkinson's Disease"

About: Leighton Hospital / Neurology The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

Following a successful couple of years treatment at the Walton Centre, Liverpool, for Parkinson's disease, I have recently had my care transferred by my GP to Leighton Hospital. I had a letter asking me to attend my local health centre for an out patient appointment which was very convenient for me. The Consultant was friendly and approachable and thorough in his initial examination. He suggested ideas for the way forward and informing me of new treatments becoming avaiable in 6-12 months. I came away feeling totally reassured that everything was being done with regard to my care and treatment. As I was leaving he said he would send me copies of correspondence between him and my GP. He also said he would arrange an appointment for me to see the specialist nurse.
