"Care of my Father"

About: University Hospital Aintree

My elderly Father was admitted to the observation ward on Saturday 6th March with a severe nose bleed that could not be stopped by Whiston hospital. On arrival in the ward he was greeted by friendly staff who immediately made him feel secure. He was treated with dignity and attended to quickly by caring professional staff. Later that evening, Dad was moved to ward 28. When I rang the ward to enquire how he was, I was answered by a member of staff, who reassued me that all was well. I collected Dad the next day and he told me that two members of staff had made his stay as comfortable as possible. As a family we would like to thank all the wonderful staff at this hospital who have given us our faith back in the NHS. Dad has been in another hospital recently and we were very upset with his treatment and the fact that the staff there didn't even bother to speak as he left the ward. He is almost 98 years old and I fully understand that staff get stressed but a simple 'take care' or even 'goodbye' would have shown some care. Some other hospital could learn alot from your staff. Please keep up your outstanding work, it really does make a difference to peoples lives not only the patients but their families as well.
