"Care for my dad"

About: Dorset County Hospital

My father was being treated on the moreton ward and even through most of the staff are amazing there are a couple of nurses who are rude and not very friendly and don't like being challenged. I will be putting in a complaint about one of them. I understand they are under pressure but they have to remember we are putting love ones in there care. They should understand that family members will be concerned and will want to know what's happening. I will be highly recommending 3 members of staff in a letter I will be writing . inhave watched nurses rush round at the end of a shift making notes on people's charts ten minutes before the shift ends. Why don't they complete charts at the time the task is being performed. Instead of trying to remember !

Thank you for your comments; I am sorry we have not been consistently able to provide the care for your father. I know your letter has been received at the trust and I hope we are able to respond to the concerns you have raised. If you would like to meet, I would be very happy to arrange that at a time that is convenient to you. If this would be helpful to you please contact our PALS service on 0800 7838058 or pals@dchft.nhs.uk and we will do our very best to resolve the problems you encountered. Kind regards, Alison Tong, Director of Nursing, Dorset County Hospital
