"Western Infirmary A and E/ AMU experience"

About: Western Infirmary/Gartnavel General / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter had injured her finger playing sport, and the school nurse had advised she go to A&E as there was a chance it was fractured.

Having historically had long waits at the Western, I was expecting a long evening, however we were taken within 10 minutes of arrival, seen, x-rayed and treated and away from the hospital in just over an hour. The longest part of the experience was for x-ray, and that was only because they had to redo one of them.

I would just like to thank the staff for making this such an easy experience.

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.
