"very upset and disappointed"

About: Leicester General Hospital

feeling very upset now was feeling very positive until today First saw the consluant back in august 2014 referral from boston was told an ileal conduit would be the way forward. I asked how long I would be waiting for the op 8 to 12 weeks I was told. I needed tests before I they could go ahead. Tests done went on the wating list on October 2014. Then was suspened from the list They was waiting for an anesthestic report the report said I was fit enough for the operation. Went to the appointment today and was told the consluant is on sick leave and will be for a while. I was told that another sugeon could do the operation at this hospital Now I have been transferred to Lincoln I have been told that I am suspened again from the waiting list. I understand that hospital staff get ill but going to yet another hospital means a longer wait for my operation which I am despaerate for . So my quality of life is really bad I have no quality of life and I am still in pain . So now I feel very upset and very disappointed and I don't know how much longer I can cope with my condition I have now been on the waiting list for 5months ,Going to different hospital may mean that I am on another waiting list for 6 months again. So yes I feel very upset and let down.

Dear Mrs Parker We are very sorry to learn of your experience. To be put on the waiting list only to find your operation could not go ahead must be so frustrating. It is really unfortunate that your consultant was ill and unable to perform your operation. And we are sorry that have now been suspended from the waiting list. We would be happy to investigate your experience further and hopefully resolve this. Our email address is communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk. Please provide a little background to your situation, along with your name, address, date of birth and the name of your consultant (if you know it), and we'll look into this right away. Sincerely Communications Team Leicester's Hospitals
