My daughter-in-law is 21 years old she was partially diagnosed with a large growth in her abdomon at new year. Since then this has grown to the size of a full term feotus, she is in constant pain, breathing difficulties and back and leg pain and unable to sleep. She has been told that the ca125 tumour marker blood test has shown very high results over 100 more than once and still cannot get treatment. She has now had surgery pushed back to mid april. I took her to A & E today as she was is so much pain and the nurse refused to let me go in with her, then told her there was no point waiting hours to see the doctor because they knew why she was in pain and to take paracetamol! The nurse added insult to injury by then saying she had had a cyst and they can be painful. I doubt the nurse had one that was so large and so painful. The poor girl is distraught and looks as if she is about to give birth to triplets. Every time she tries to contact the consultant they are always on "annual leave". Shame on you Royal Lancaster Infirmary, you are a disgrace.
