"Mis and inappropriate diagnosis by nurse"

About: Highfield Hospital

(as the patient),

I had problems with irritable bladder and was called in for tests. The nurse said the consultant wanted a water sample so she accompanied me to the ladies where before I knew it had dipped the sample and pronounced “It’s either kidney stones or cancer” I have written twice to complain about this incident which led to a lot of expensive tests on the NHS and led nowhere since I stopped drinking tap water and kept to bottled water the problem went away. There were however for me and my family weeks of anguish and upset whilst awaiting results – not to mention the shock of being told in such an inappropriate setting.

Results should have been discussed with the specialist and delivered in an appropriate setting.

I would like to take up the chance to speak with the nurse which was offered no reply to my request received.
