I came into A and E for a cut in my hand.
The doctor who treated me was very unwelcoming and didn't explain what he was about to do, he did not tell me what was going to happen he just said 'this needs stitches'. He didn't explain he was going to inject me with local anaesthetic and then when I moved away because I was scared he was rude to me and it wasn't necessary as a simple explanation could have alleviated my fear.
He also made no attempt to let the anaesthetic to work and stitched it instantly which was excruciating and could have been avoided with a couple of minutes waiting.
The whole experience was not very welcoming. However all the other members of staff were lovely and made the experience more bearable.
