"9 year old boy not given the care he deserved"

About: Chase Farm Hospital

The care my son was given was awful!! He was taken to chase farm for stitches to his knee due to a bad fall. The front desk staff barely looked up, miserable is not the word. Then after a 2 hour wait with a little boy in pain we were taken into a little room. The doctor took one look and said he didn't need stitches I argued and the doctor refused. I then asked for some strips to help the wound close again I was told he didn't need them. Someone else came in, dabbed the wound with water and stuck a plaster on! I was shocked but as they refused to so anything else I went home. Later I sent a picture to a dr friend and she said he should of had stitches!! Then the nurse at my local drs surgery said he should have had something to help it close. She was shocked and even apologised to me. No antiseptic cream on it or anything. I'm extremely angry at how he was treated and now it's too late to have the stitches so it will just keep opening up again and again as it's on the knee so an awkward place. If I had any advice it would be avoid this hospital !! Do not go here!!

We're sorry to hear you're unhappy and we will pass your comments on to the relevant department. In order for us to look into this properly it would be useful to have some further details - please email rf.communications@nhs.net with further information so that we can investigate.
