I have just returned from a 4 day admission at Blackburn Hospital and I cannot tell you how impressed I am with the care I was given. I had a rough ride all week with various gp's, misdiagnosis etc but the second I stepped though the hospital doors I was treated brilliantly. It took a while and a little waiting but every care was taken to make sure I was given the right diagnosis and the right treatment for me. The staff on wards B14 and B20 are just excellent. Every member of staff I came across during my stay really embodied the idea of holistic care. I suffer from acute anxiety along with other mental health issues and this was not dismissed as silly or unhelpful it was accepted that it was part of me and it was made clear that it was important to be treated and cared for along with the physical condition that I was in hospital for. Every member of staff should be commended, they did it with care, compassion and empathy and I am incredibly grateful to them. They made my experience as easy and comfortable as it could possibly be. The doctors, surgeons and theatre staff were incredibly sympathetic to me and recognised there was a need for mental health care before I had the opportunity to tell the. What a fantastic attitude they have and they should be made an example of excellent care.. This really did make a difference to my care and stay at Blackburn Hospital and I cannot express my gratitude enough. Thankyou.
