(as the patient),

urgently needed access to gp for symptoms of pneumonia as needed antibiotics - I couldn't make the slot offered as had insufficient time to travel in to it, and no other appointment could be made that day.

I am very sorry to hear that you have had difficulties accessing your GP service.

I do appreciate sometimes it is not easy to get an appointment to see a GP on the day you telephone. The daily emergency surgeries, which are left clear for "on the day" appointments, do get booked up quite quickly and unfortunately sometimes leave only limited appointment times - as you have obviously experienced.

May I suggest that you contact your surgery directly and discuss your concerns with them. I am sure they will be able to help you and give you advice on what to do in future should similar circumstances arise.
