"Welcome to day care unit"

About: King George Hospital

The standard letter says on arrival you will be welcomed by a nurse and measured for compression stockings that you need to wear during your stay. As these two facts are in the same sentence it implies that these two actions take place at the same time. So why did I have to wait from 8am until 12.25 just before I was taken into theatre for the stockings to be fitted?

I am sorry you had to wait a long time to be fitted with stockings. I’d welcome you to contact me through our PALS team on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk so I can investigate this further. Yours sincerely Wendy Matthews Interim Chief Nurse
