"The medical staff were very helpful"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I am diabetic and was admitted to the Royal Bolton Hospital as an emergency because of breathlessness and weight gain. The nursing staff were brilliant. I was very impressed to see male nursing assistants changing elderly ladies (with a female nurse). The medical staff were very helpful. When I finally saw the cardiologist, I was taken off some drugs and the diuretic changed for two different ones, also asthma inhalers changed. Breakfast was from 7.30am till 8.00am and then lunch later at 1.00pm. I’m diabetic but fortunately had (as always) taken food supplies. I was admitted at 2.00pm and was given IV diuretic at 10.00pm. Thus awake for long period during the night. But I never sleep well in hospital. The nurses on this ward work extremely hard with their admissions. What a good team. But I waited a long time for medication to take home.
