"A frightening situation turned into a calm experience"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I attended the QMC in May and August for a double hip replacement where I stayed on ward F18. The best things about my treatment was the kindness I was shown and the treatment options discussed with me. My surgeon also came to see me often. Although some of the nursing care could have been more gentle. I would like to thank Mr A Westbrook and his team, Cathy Furse (nurse practitioner) on the team. Most of the nurses on ward F18 and the doctors for their kind bedside ways. I would recommend F18 to anyone looking for a hospital to have a joint replacement. My first stay in May made a frightening situation into an organised and calm experience. The nurses were very kind. When I went into the same ward in August I felt I knew the ward and the staff and what to expect.
