"Care received"

About: Manor Hospital

I am not the person that was in hospital but our elderly relative was on Ward 4. We could not have expected any better if our relative had been in a private hospital, We were in Australia on holiday and had to return early. The registrar gave us (via friends who were visiting our relative until our return) his bleep number so that we could contact him directly. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done for our relative but she was kept in hospital at our request rather than move her to a hospice which would have been really uncomfortable for her. The consultant showed us the MRI scans when we returned and couldn't have done more for her. The palliative team were visiting daily and kept us informed as did the nurses. The staff on this ward are first rate. We would also like to mention two porters who were in and out of the Xray dept all the time that we were there and seemed to be doing twice the work that would be expected and treated all the patients with dignity and respect whilst being very pleasant with them. All of these people are an asset to the Manor and couldn't have done more.
