"Still no further forward"

About: Ailsa Hospital / General Psychiatry

(as the patient),

Went for an appointment with my doc at the hospital which lasted the whole of 7 minutes for the doctor then to say there is really nothing we can do.

The whole 7 minute's I. was breaking my heart. Then the doctor left it at that as I left. the consulting room in floods of tears to then have to phone my mum who couldn't make me out I was inconsolable got to my mums eventually. Driving home still crying to tell my mum what happened. As I asked the doctor what is the solution kill myself? For the doctor to turn around and say u have been thinking about this for while what's been stopping you. So is the answer to my personality disorder to kill my self as I then no longer suffer and get the help I need 6ft under? NHS mental health team call them self a reliable team more don't give a rats ass. I have been ill for 7/8 years, still no further forward

Apologies for the delay in responding to your post. You've obviously been left feeling frustrated and distressed following your appointment. Can you contact either me on 01292513607 or Eunice Goodwin on eunice.goodwin@aapct.scot.nhs.uk tel 01563 826222 so that we can discuss your issues further and try to get you some help if needed.

Kind regards

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear macymay,

I am so sorry you feel so unhappy with your care to date. We really do want you to get the help you need. It is so important that you get the chance to speak to someone about your care. In addition to what our Nurse Director has advised, can I convince you to make direct contact with Mr Stuart McGregor, our Clinical Operations Manager for South Ayrshire on

01292-513297? Stuart will be able to help you.

Please take care,

Best wishes,

Eunice
