"Referring to previous posts - uniforms outside work time"

About: Whiston Hospital

(as a service user),

I have just come across a post referring to staff wearing their uniforms outside of work, and how it is not an infection control risk.

I beg to differ.

Shopping one day in the supermarket I was looking at the fruit and veg's. My horror was apparent on my face when i turned and saw a nurse, in her uniform, picking up fruit and putting it back down, brushing past fruit as she moved from one to the next. This was not why i was horrified. The reason for that horror, was because she had what looked like faeces smearing on the back of her tunic.

I'm concerned that this is an infection control risk. Make sure you wash your fruit/veg thoroughly before eating. And make sure if you work in hospital that you are clean when you finish work!
