About: Altrincham General Hospital

My experience of Alty General is overwhelmingly positive. I have attended several times in he last decade or so for mainly diagnostic tests, and have always been impressed by the efficiency of the staff and their friendliness. However, this is not reflected in the Website, which is unhelpful to say the least. I was merely trying to locate Podiatry Services in the area. after 20 minutes or so, faffing about, I have given up, and will look elsewhere for some service. A small tip!------- not all folk who wish have their feet attended to, have Diabetes. Now--- you try and find what Podiatry services are available in the Trafford Area! I know that this is a minor matter in the great scheme of things, but minor matters need resolution also! Incidentally---on each of my recent visits to Altrincham General I asked the nurse/ professional who dealt with me, whether they were excited about moving to the spanky new Hospital now nearing completion on Altrincham main street. I was hoping to find some degree of pride. I was disappointed to hear in return that all of them were planning to retire, rather than move into the new facility. What is going on in the management of the transfer? The new Hospital is only 200 metres or so from the old place, an almost ideal move!

We are really sorry to learn that you had difficulty locating podiatry information for Altrincham Hospital on the website. Thank you also for your feedback concerning staff moving to the new hospital. The new Hospital opened in April 2015. We appreciate that change can be difficult for staff, especially in circumstances where they have been in post for many years. In preparation for this we arranged several engagement sessions to help staff adapt to the new environment and set up a “champions” group for each department which meet every month to receive updates and assist in the transition. We are sorry that the members of staff you spoke to during your visits were not as excited as we would have expected, but hope we have reassured you that we are doing all we can to ensure that the new hospital is as successful as possible in offering high quality care, a great patient and staff experience.
