"Excellent care at Chapel Allerton hospital, Leeds"

About: Chapel Allerton Hospital St James's University Hospital

(as a relative),

Our teenage daughter was taken seriously ill and diagnosed with Lupus 15 months ago. She now attends regular clinics at the Dept of Rheumatolgy, Chapel Allerton which recently started a joint lupus/nephrology clinic once a month with both departments working well as a team. All the staff are very welcoming and friendly and, although administratively things can appear a little disorganised at times, the level of care and support is excellent.

Most importantly, if we or our daughter have any concerns between visits, the medical staff always respond quickly to our telephone calls or emails. This has helped our daughter the confidence to leave home to take up her place at university in another city, safe in the knowledge that there is support available back in Leeds if ever she needs it.

Thank you for taking the time to share both you and your daughter's experience at Chapel Allerton hospital.

I was pleased to hear that the care and support you have been receiving both in hospital and on the telephone is of a high standard.

I shall ensure that your comments are passed onto the relevant department in the hospital.
