"A fantastic hospital with a cottage atmosphere"

About: Bridgnorth Hospital

Sadly my partners mum had to be admitted to hospital 2 weeks ago and as you well know, it is a very traumatic time for older people. They have this vision that it is the last bus ride they are going to take. To start with the Ambulance men were out of this world. They treated mum with total respect and made light of the whole situation. This started to put mum at rest and when she arrived at the hospital that respect carried through with the staff of the Female ward. The staff on the ward have treated mum with calm professionalism, total respect and further more even though they are very busy will always make time to ensure that every patient feels like they are the only one there. Mum was a chef in her working years and says that the food is out of this world, true praise indeed from a fellow professional. Mum is still there at the moment and is improving fast due to the encouragement given by all the staff and now believes that she will go home and be able to cope with the support that will come from this centre of excellence. Thank you staff of the Female ward

Response from Soma Moulik, PALS/FOI/Complaints Manager, Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust

Thank you so much for taking the time to post such detailed feedback about the experience you partner's mum had during her stay at Bridgnorth Hospital. Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your post which was due to some technical difficulties that we were experiencing.

It is heartening to know that you were pleased with all aspects of care provided at Bridgnorth and that staff on the ward showed professionalism and always treated mum with respect and dignity. Thank you for your very kind words which I will share with the Hospital Manager as staff work very hard to provide the best possible care to all patients. Your feedback is very important as it not only helps us to continue remain motivated but also guides us to make improvements in future. I hope mum was discharged home with all the relevant support and is doing well.

Thank you once again for taking the time and effort to give us your feedback about Bridgnorth. Hope we can continue to provide an excellent service to all our patients at all times.

Kind regards
