I have been turned away from the Laser Eye Clinic.
I had an appointment, I was seen by a nurse and had 2 different types of drops put into my eyes and told to wait for the doctor to call you. I waited a further 30 mins and taken into another room to be told by a doctor that my appointment was cancelled as I was double booked. The Consultants meeting evidently had been arranged prior to my appointment.
A consultant is required to be at the Laser treatment and as they had a meeting that afternoon my appointment had to be cancelled. I then had to have more drops in my eyes to reverse the the drops put in 45 mins ago.
I contacted them to complain and they had no knowledge of the Consultants meeting. I was informed that the Clinic was open and no meeting was scheduled to their knowledge.
I have travelled 35mins for this appointment, I have had to cancel my own appointments to attended this clinic and had my son re arrange his day to come and drive me home.
I am 66, on a pension and can ill afford to keep running up fuel costs for no treatment to take place.
I was promised I would receive a call back but no call has come.
I was given an apology by the doctor who spoke to me but I would like a proper explanation from the people who make these decisions and appointments.
I hope this letter reaches the people in charge of conducting, a better communication system between depts.
"Cancelled appointment"
