I had key hole surgery yesterday At the boothroyd center. I was so nervous I could not provide a urine sample even though it didn't say on my letter I needed one nor was I told at any state that I would have to provide one. All the nurses who looked after me before going down into theatre were lovely but would not no her to give me a smile or a small nod of head when I was out. My consultant, I hope to not see again. How rude of a woman she was. yesterday I was extremly nervous and scared and she was angry I couldn't provide a urine sample for a pregnancy test and said 'we will have take a urine sample whilst you are under but if I find out you are pregnant you have wasted my time and wastes anesthetic' I even told her there was absolutely no chance I could be pregnant. I had my op at 8.30 came around at 9.15 and was home at 11. I was left with a littlr bit of the paper knickers still on me. The nurse noted my temp was 32 (any temp below 35 you have a chance of catching hyperthermia) bit did nothing about it even though I was shivering. As soon as I had a cup of tea and a slice of toast they got me ready to leave even though it was a struggle to get up off the bed and every step was visibly painful. Staff were shocking in after care and I am rather disappointed in the care I received.
