At North Bristol Trust within the year three medical wards and a surgical ward are to close with a significant loss of nursing and medical staff to save money.
Despite this the people who make these decisions have employed an 'art manager' on 30k+ a year plus a 'patient experience improvement manager' also on 30k+ a year (although how you can improve patient care or experience if you have no bed, nurse, doctor etc escapes me).
Still you can look at the pretty pictures in the corridors while you wait for a bed!
