"act fast on a stroke ( not)"

About: South Tyneside District Hospital

My grandma is still in the observation ward 17-2-15. We brought her in on Saturday 14-2-15 as she was slurring her words and wasn't making much sense. As we keep getting told act quick the more the person you save. we acted quick however hospital are still not. They mixed her notes up when she first came in with another lady with a similar name very dangerous. She suffered another complication while waiting to be admitted( which still hasn't been dealt with. She was meant to go for an MRI scan but machine was broke but we were a sure today she would have it. Went in tonight and was told maybe tomorrow. My grandma is slowly deteriorating before our eyes and I'm afraid to say I don't think she will recover from this. I think what was my grandma has gone. Had this hospital acted fast as we did. She may not be as bad now. we still are waiting also for her to go on the stroke ward but still no beds. The nurses seem nice enough but they arnt the doctors they just do as they are told. This hospital deserves the bad reputation it's got I'm utterly heartbroken

I am very disappointed to read the events surrounding your grandma’s care: this is not the high standard of service we pride ourselves in delivering to our patients. I am truly sorry to hear your grandma’s health is deteriorating and if there is any aspect of her care you would like investigating, please contact the Customer Services Department on 0191 404 1072 or contact myself by email (Lorraine.lambert@stft.nhs.uk) or letter.
