"Excellent nursing care in Ward 4"

About: University Hospital Monklands

(as a relative),

My mother was admitted early December and told she had 24-48 hrs to live but she survived until the 30th December and I will never forget the care that she got from all the staff. She was treated with respect, dignity, and affection. Not once did the nurses look like they were doing a job but more like they were doing something they loved. The care and support offered to me while I sat at my mothers bedside made what should have been the worst experience of my life to one that I can look back on with love and some happy memories, from dressing up as Santa on Christmas Day or just singing Christmas Carols to mum while they were tending to her. I have never seen such a devoted team as is in Ward 4!

Dear RM grateful

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience of the care your Mum received during the last few weeks of her life within ward 4, Monklands Hospital.

SCN Murray and her team work extremely hard to deliver person-centred care, ensuring compassion and dignity are shown at all times and acknowledge the support relatives need too.

I appreciate this is a very difficult time for you and I'm glad the staff were able to provide you with comfort and happy memories to reflect upon.

I will ensure your comments are shared with the ward team.

Kind regards

Ruth
