I had experienced some spotting and my GP arranged for me to have a scan at the early pregnancy unit. I went for the scan with my Husband on a Friday, at the scan the technician confirmed that she could see the baby in the right position, but she could not detect a heart beat. She was able to confirm that the baby was 9 weeks old.
The technician and all the nurses I saw were so supportive and kind. They explained everything really slowly and gave my husband and I time alone in a room to talk. They were able to keep us private and even showed us out of the unit through a back door so I didn't need to walk through the entrance with the other pregnant mums. They asked me if I wanted a photograph of the baby, at the time I was so upset I couldn't really look at the picture, but now its a week later and I am so pleased I have this picture to remember our baby.
Everyone we met was so kind, understanding and considerate. I couldn't have asked for everyone to do anything else. I wanted to arrange for the treatment I needed as soon as possible, and the nurse was able to arrange for me to come in on Monday to have the medical management.
I was given my own room for the whole day and all the nurses that looked after me were so kind. It was a horrible experience, I am so sad to have lost our baby, but I couldn't have asked for any better treatment. Everyone helped to make such a awful experience so much less painful.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone at the EP unit and ward 32. thank you for your kindness.
