My partners farther fell down the stairs was waiting 40 min for an ambulance and the had to weight 2 hours in a and e for him to be seen. Me and his son had to carry him to the toilet as after repeatedly asking the receptionist for 25 min for help and a wheelchair. I found this department beyond shocking as we was not the only ones left for hours. There was a man in there going mad because his sick old mum was just pushed to a corner and left fitting. We finally got transfered upstairs to a really good care unit thinking that my father in law would be out in hours. We was told he probably was coming. out we told the doctors just how shocking a and e. My father in law need an emergency blood tranfusion to be saved. We was still told not to get two hopefully as he imprived over next thew days the trainee doctors was great although he did state it was down to senior doctors in what treatment they would give. He got a lot better and was starting to become his self again on the day he was a lot better we had a consultation on what was next. We got told he was being transfered to a ward and he was gonna be fine he was transfered to ward 11 high dependency unit. He was tret like a child I was disgusted and read his notes to find a lot of his medical history wasnt there also what he should of been getting he wasn't. I brought this up with the head nurse who thank me and at the same time said it was a criminal offence to read patient record but she's glad I did. She went on to say what help my father in law would be getting. That night he died. We spoke to the first doctor that we ever saw. We, my mother in law did. He said we should of never been told he was gonna live and that he was transfered there to die as there was nothing more they could do for him. To make it worse the nurses wasn't going to ring us. It took the doctor to tell them two. If we had known he wasn't going to make we could of said all the things we never got to say and brought him home were he would of wanted to die.....
