My father was brought by ambulance to A&E in the early hours of a Saturday morning. Over the next 11 hours we had contact with many members of staff - ambulance, nurses, doctors, ancilliary workers, psychiatrist. They were all incredible and the care my father received was wonderful. However, it is important that special thanks go to one nurse - in short, was a shining example of what every nurse should be - kind, compassionate, caring and competent. This nurse treated my dad with respect and dignity and offered the highest but also offered wonderful care to me and my mum - we were worried sick - the nurse supported us, talked us through the process and provided endless cups of tea - and even a hug when things were really desperate. We can't thank the nurse enough.
