Having had an emergency c section in 2009 and a planned one in 2011 I was happy to have my third and last baby at QCCH confident that I'd have the post op care that is experienced before. With QCCH it's noted that you tolerate the 3-4 hour delay in antenatal appointment times because the care once you've delivered your bundle is great. This is no longer the case. I had my third section last week. Without going into specific details the experience was dire. The staff are visibly over stretched and no longer really care, there are a handful of nice midwives who genuinely care. As for letting husbands/partners stay on the ward overnight, what the hell?! Not acceptable. Women who want that experience should have to pay for a private room. At the very least other women on the ward should be consulted as to whether they wish to have a male strange presence after such an ordeal.
