I was referred to Bedford Hospital for a scan on my leg on Thursday 12 February, I was very anxious about this as a blood test had shown higher than normal readings and the scan was to see if I had a DVT. The service I received without exception was excellent from the moment I walked through the door of Victoria Ward. Both my husband and I was offered hot drinks on several occasions by the nurses. Everyone was so friendly, kind and very professional and made me feel very much more relaxed. We were seen straight away, first by the nurses taking more blood tests and blood pressure readings, testing for infection and then gathering lots of information. We were able to connect to broadband while we waited which enabled me to use my Ipad and take my mind off of the impending scan and what the results might be. When we went down to radiology for the scan I was met with the same level of professionalism and friendly attitudes, everything was explained on what the procedure would involve and after about 10 minutes, I was relieved to be told that the scan was clear. We went back to Victoria Ward and then the doctor came along and confirmed the scan result, examined my leg and gave me further advice. She like all the other staff I had met that day was absolutely charming. Will done Bedford Hospital, Victoria Ward and all the staff, I could not have received a better service anywhere. Thank you so much.
