Your expert care has enabled Don to better come to terms with his condition, enabling him to take the next vital steps in his journey. Very best wishes.

Thank you so much for getting in touch - we will make sure that the team on ward 9B south (and especially its ward sister) get to see your kind words really quickly (in fact we've just sent them off to them by email, with a link so that they can see them for themselves here on our NHS Choices pages. It sounds like your father still has quite a way to go, but that his experience - and that of his wider family - following his recent stay on ward 9B south means that he is now heading in a better direction. And after all, every journey always starts with a first step - we hope that for your father, it is as good a journey as it can be.
