"a and e visit"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

Absolutely horrendous. Was involved in a car accident. Told I had blood in my urine. Took another sample and saw nobody for 4 and a half hours. Finally saw someone who then left me for 2 hours. Sent to have bloods and CT scan can't be done without them and then found out I should have been in a neck brace. Sent back from CT as not in neck brace! Get moved to different room a few times and then CT results still haven't come through even though they have an hour. They get all clear over the fone and im sent home not really knowing what's happened!

Dear stikkinikki365

I apologise that you had a poor experience while you were a patient in the Emergency Department and that staff did not clearly explain what was happening and why you had to wait for your test results. I am happy to meet with you, personally, to discuss your time in A+E.

Please feel free to contact me via PALS on 01205 446243 or email pals@ulh.nhs.uk

Sincerely

Lynda Stockwell

Head of Nursing
