"Infection concerns at Castle Hill"

Just wanted to air my concerns. My dad was admitted to Castle Hill earlier this month, for his surgery the following day. He had a bypass and a valve replacement (surgery went well). Currently, my dad has developed an infection as have SEVEN other patients that all had surgery on or about the same date as my dad - a little suspicious, if you ask me. Why do so many patients develop infections after their surgery? This is of great concern to my mum and I. Can anyone please answer this? Perhaps the cleanliness of the theatre should be checked? Where would all the infections come from?
