I suffer from a condition called Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and have had it all my life. I have been able to control it up until almost 2 years ago when it started to get worse and I’ve had to go into hospital for an injection called adenazine to slow my heart beat right down to its normal rhythm. The injection is the most uncomfortable and painful thing I have ever experienced and it is dangerous.
I have now been waiting for a procedure called ablation for almost a year and half because the hospital have given me nothing but grief telling me one minute that they've lost my notes or have not received them and this has been going on for a year and half and in that time I have lost count in how many times I’ve been in hospital and had the adenazine injection.
Finally after complaining twice I got my appointment through for the middle of August. Then today the cardiology’s receptionist phoned me to tell me that they have cancelled my appointment because there are other people with higher priority than me, those people have gone through a&e, even though I have been through more than 40 times yet I didn’t get my procedure. Now I have to wait even longer for my procedure because I’m not a high priority!
