Great hospital however, please ensure you arrive 20 minutes before your appointment as you will be driving around looking for a space to park. You may not be able to get a space therefore you may need to park in the grass as you will notice as you search for a space. Bare in mind this inconvenience before your actual appointment time. Hope improvements can be made NHS Rotherham

Hello my name is Kerry, thank you for your post on NHS Choices. We really appreciate your feedback and are pleased to hear that you found Rotherham Hospital to be great. However, we are sorry to hear that you found the parking at the Hospital to be an inconvenience.

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust is currently embarking on a development early in the Spring of 2015 to provide an Emergency Care Centre; the new centre will be built around the current Emergency Department and therefore, as a consequence of this, there will be significant disruption on the hospital campus until completion in the Spring of 2017. However we are hopeful for improvements to parking as part of this Emergency Centre scheme, as a new 122 space car park will be provided for staff which will free up valuable car parking within the main car park for patients and visitors. When the Emergency Centre scheme is complete, there will also be a new dedicated wheelchair car park for patients and visitors, together with a drop-off area near to the new Emergency Centre.

I hope that this response provides you with some assurance around our plans for parking in the future.
