I have just returned home from my first ever colonoscopy. I must admit to being terrified, not so much about the procedure but as to the findings. Upon arrival I was greeted by a very friendly and welcoming receptionist and directed to the Waiting Area. I was soon collected by a Staff Nurse who escorted me to a private room to complete my admission procedures. She soon recognised my fears and proceeded to reassure me. Her patience and kindness were very much appreciated. The actual procedure was not nearly as unpleasant as I had expected and I was looked after throughout by two efficient and supportive nurses. To top it all the results look positive subject to biopsies and I am now relaxing at home wondering why I was so worried! Thank u to all concerned for their kindness and attention and I am sure all future patients will have a similar experience.
