After being taken into A&E last night by a very helpful and calming paramedic (9 Feb) for another choking episode from eating food (an increasingly frequent event with me lately), my blood pressure and temperature was taken and I was then left unattended for just over and hour and waited patiently until a doctor came and asked if I could swallow a drink. When I said I could but my throat was sore and swollen, I was sent home. I was not examined and no further questions or investigation were forthcoming. My husband and daughter were kept in the waiting room and could not find out what was happening to me. We are all thoroughly disgusted and I, especially, feel let down, ignored and scared because it will happen again and I don't know why. There must be something causing this trouble swallowing, yet after a Barium Swallow at Stafford County Hospital a couple of months ago - to which no restriction was found - I was again discharged from ENT without any further investigations. What next? Death by choking?
