"A+E Dept and Ward 22."

About: York Hospital

Staying for the weekend at my disabled brother who lives in Acomb, York. On the Sunday morning 8th February (2015). I had 'breakthrough' pain on my right knee caused by my Rheumatoid Arthritis. My right knee swelled up and I suffered badly with 'extreme' pain. My brother phoned A+E Dept and they sent two paramedics to my brother's flat. The two paramedics decided I need to go to The York Hospital (Wigginton Road). On arrival I was taken to the A+E Dept where I was seen by the doctor and some others doctors too on the A+E Dept. I also had an X-Ray on my chest and on my right knee. After the initial 2/3 hours on the A+E ward (where I was given a bed) I was taken to the Ward 22 where I was kept in overnight. I saw a doctor late at night (around 11pm) and he told me the results of the X-Ray scans. I was also told they were monitoring my blood stats too. I stayed just the one night and was discharged the following day (Monday 9th February). On monday morning I was seen by another doctor and later seen by a member of a Rheumatologist Doctor/Team. I was happy with the results from all the doctors at the York hospital. The staff including all the nurses as well as staff who served meals were excellent. The staff were busy (probably because it was a weekend) and each staff had a duty and care to look after the patients which I thought was excellent. The staff had time for every patients on the wards. I will say that it was the first time I been to this hospital. I wasn't disappointed. Yes, I would recommend this hospital and I was satisfied too with all the staff. Thank you...
